I have only ever heard about Berlin because of the Berlin Wall. Don’t judge me but I always thought it was somewhere near Russia. Being in Europe has made realize how little I actually know about geography or any international facts of history. The main reason we went off to Berlin was for a music festival. I have never been prior to this weekend. Fun fact I have never even been to a concert before, so I was taking a big step this weekend. Lollapalooza was a fun-filled day of music, good people, awesome lights, and a crazy experience.
The concert lasted all day so that took up my Saturday adventure in Berlin. It took a lot out of me. I have had three knee surgeries so jumping for 20 miles (according to my apple watch) will make you pray that one of your friends brought Advil. Sunday we decided to take it easy. There was a boat tour that brought you around Berlin to see some of its major landmarks. Fun fact of the day, Berlin has the most bridges in a city, even more than Venice! On the tour, we saw Museum Island, Berlin Cathedral, TV tower, the House of the Cultures of the World, German Chancellery, and the Red Townhall.
We still had time before the bus ride home, so we decided to walk around Berlin. It is incredible that every city has so much to offer, and so much of it that I didn’t know about. Well, I knew about the Berlin wall, so that was a must to see on Sunday. We ended up walking around the main city center and saw a lot. I really have to write down the names of these places. Maybe next time, for now, enjoy the pictures!
